Beer for Beasts 2013

Update: Tickets on sale now at http://beerforbeasts.com/ Respect Beer. There is more to beer than beer. Beer is Culture. Sixpoint and BeerAdvocate’s slogans epitomize the same idea—that this drink, with all its heritage, and the grand effects it has had on humans through history, is not one to water down,  render tasteless or allow to stagnate. Rather, its creators must be innovative and their product cherished. Beer has changed the shape of society, propelled and at times necessitated agriculture, eased social tension and raised spirits for thousands of years. Collaboration between like minds, with like goals, is a natural result.

Beer for Beasts 2013Beer for Beasts is a celebration of this shared mindset, alongside a further collaboration with the Humane Society of New York, to care for the city’s pets. The third annual event, hosted by BeerAdvocate and Sixpoint Brewery, is on Saturday, April 6th, at the Bell House in Brooklyn. It features 25 custom brews that will only ever be served at this event; beers which  commemorate Sixpoint’s homebrewing roots and utilize Mad Scientist ingenuity. Some of New York City’s best food vendors will be there, along with stand-up comedians and music selections from deejay “Chances with Wolves,” who performed at Beer for Beasts 1 and 2, and were met with rave reviews. It’s a huge collaboration that brings out divergent parts of the community, united in purpose. As Shane Welch says, “when you combine raw creativity with good intentions, the positive outcome is boundless.”

Beer for Beasts 2013Tickets go on sale March 1st, so be ready, numbers are finite and sell out quickly.

And remember, as BeerAdvocate co-founder Todd Alstrom points out, “Beer for Beasts is not just another beer festival. It’s a celebration of things we love and a fundraiser for those that show us unconditional love.”

    Sixpoint is proud to be a part of he New York City Brewers Guild Blocktoberfest event! Nineteen of NYC’s premier Guild breweries will be featured at the annual NYCBG fundraiser to raise money for NYC Beer Week 2015. We will pouring our Oktoberfest Lager and Crisp Pilz. Occurring in and around Kelso Beer Company on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, “Blocktoberfest” boasts a 5,000 square feet indoor beer garden and 3,000 square feet outdoor seating area located at 525 Waverly Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. A special VIP seating opens up the event from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm where ticketholders can meet acclaimed brewers, and taste rare brews as well as their latest and greatest new releases (the VIP and general admission beer lists will be announced soon). 508 Gastrobrewery’s brewmaster Chris Cuzme curates the musical offerings showcasing local live bands and DJ sets, and select artisan food trucks will provide delicious eats, including Jimmy’s No. 43′s Beer & BBQ Truck. The full food truck and music line-up will be announced soon. General Admission is $10, beers are $5 each, or $20 for a discount five-pack and food is sold separately.
